Victron Energy Galvanic Isolator For Marine VDI-32A - GDI000032000

The Victron galvanic isolator is designed to prevent electrolytic corrosion on boats. It blocks low-voltage DC currents entering through the shore power earth wire, which can cause corrosion to underwater metals such as the hull, propeller and shaft.

It contains two diodes connected in anti-parallel. They allow current to pass in both directions only above a threshold voltage of about 1.4 V DC. The isolator is rated at 32 A and is for 230 V AC.

Install it directly behind the boat's 230 V connection. If a higher error voltage occurs in the AC circuit, the diodes allow current through and the residual-current device breaks the circuit.
