The Remax Dynamo 12V Voltage Regulator is a 20 AMP, positive-earth unit with screw terminals that replaces the Lucas RF95. Its solid-state, surface-mount technology is fuse protected; the fuse also protects the dynamo against overloading or a short circuit. The regulator is protected against reverse polarity if the battery is connected back to front.
Terminals and screws are nickel plated. The base and lid are made from high-temperature-resistant plastic, the lid clip from galvanised spring steel, and the heat sink from pure aluminium.
It is used on many British cars from 1939–1955, including Alvis (all models, 1946–48); Armstrong Siddeley Hurricane and Lancaster (1946–48) and Typhoon (1948); Austin 10 and 12 (1946–47) and 16 (1946–48); Citroen Slough-built models (1946–55) and 15 (1946–50); and Commer, Daimler, Hillman, HRG, Humber, Jaguar, Jensen, Karrier, Lanchester, Lea Francis, MG, Morgan, Morris, Reliant, Riley, Singer, Standard, Sunbeam Talbot, Triumph, Trojan, Vauxhall and Wolseley. Most cars using an RF95 were positive earth. Check whether the car has been converted to negative earth.
