About the product

The Remax Dynamo 12V Voltage Regulator is a 20 AMP negative-earth regulator with a screw terminal, replacing the Lucas RF95. It uses solid-state, surface-mount technology beneath a lid with an exterior like the old Lucas unit.

It is fuse protected against faults, and the fuse also protects the regulator and dynamo in the event of an overload or short circuit. The unit has reverse-polarity protection if the battery is connected the wrong way round.

  • Terminals and screws are nickel plated.
  • The base and lid are high-temperature-resistant plastic that can withstand under-bonnet temperatures.
  • The lid clip is galvanised spring steel.
  • The heat sink is high-grade pure aluminium.
  • Made in England.

Used on many British cars from 1939–1955, including Alvis models from 1946–48; Armstrong Siddeley Hurricane and Lancaster from 1946–48 and Typhoon from 1948; Austin 10 and 12 from 1946–47 and 16 from 1946–48; and Slough-built Citroën models from 1946–55, including the 15 from 1946–50. Other named makes are Commer, Daimler, Hillman, HRG, Humber, Jaguar, Jensen, Karrier, Lanchester, Lea Francis, MG, Morgan, Morris, Reliant, Riley, Singer, Standard, Sunbeam Talbot, Triumph, Trojan, Vauxhall and Wolseley.

Most cars that used an RF95 were positive earth. Check whether the car has been converted to negative earth, as many were by previous owners.
