The Remax Dynamo voltage regulator is a 12 V, 16 AMP unit with negative-earth polarity and a screw terminal. It replaces the Lucas RF95.
It uses solid-state, surface-mount technology. The regulator is fuse-protected against overloading and short circuit; the fuse also protects the dynamo in those circumstances. Reverse-polarity protection is provided if the battery is connected back to front.
It is used on many British cars from 1939–1955, including Alvis, Armstrong Siddeley, Austin, Citroen (Slough-built models), Commer, Daimler, Hillman, HRG, Humber, Jaguar, Jensen, Karrier, Lanchester, Lea Francis, MG, Morgan, Morris, Reliant, Riley, Singer, Standard, Sunbeam Talbot, Triumph, Trojan, Vauxhall and Wolseley. Listed models include the Armstrong Siddeley Hurricane, Lancaster and Typhoon; Austin 10, 12 and 16; and Citroen 15. Most cars that used an RF95 were positive earth. Check whether the car has been converted to negative earth, as many were by previous owners.
