RAC800 Powerlite High Torque Starter Motor

The Powerlite RAC800 is a high torque starter motor for Ford X Flow and Pre X Flow engines with a 110-tooth ring gear. It replaces the Lucas LRS00100 inertia type starter motor and is suitable only for negative-earth applications.

This 12 V unit has 1.60 kW power, 9 teeth and a weight of 3.00 kg. Powerlite starter motors are described as lightweight, gear-reduction units that provide increased cranking speeds and more cranking power than original units while drawing less current from the battery. They are intended for road competition applications, particularly with tuned engines or in adverse conditions.

The unit is a direct replacement and requires no vehicle modifications. It works with positive and negative polarity. The compact design may be easier to install than an original unit, and units are modified where necessary to aid fitment.
