RAC510 Powerlite High Torque Starter Motor

The Powerlite RAC510 is a 12 V high torque starter motor listed for the Porsche 356 12 volt.

It is a direct replacement for the original unit and requires no vehicle modifications. It works with positive and negative polarity, except for the Slimeline Range. The 12 V unit has a power rating of 1.00 kW, 9 teeth and a weight of 3.80 kg. RAC511 is the 6 V reference.

The compact, lightweight design is described as easier to install than the original unit; units are modified where necessary to aid fitment. Powerlite states that its starter motors draw less current from the battery while providing increased cranking speeds and cranking power compared with original units.
