RAC483 Powerlite High Torque Starter Motor

The Powerlite RAC483 is a high torque starter motor for specified Ford and Westfield fitments.

It has a 1.40 kW rating, 10 teeth, a 12 V voltage and a weight of 2.90 kg. Powerlite describes its high torque gear reduction starter motors as lightweight units that provide increased cranking speeds and more cranking power than original units while drawing less current from the battery. They are intended for road competition applications, including tuned engines and adverse conditions where extra starter performance is required.

• Direct replacement for original units, with no vehicle modifications required.
• Works with positive and negative polarity; the Slimeline range is excepted.
• Units may be modified where necessary to aid fitment and can be easier to install than the original unit.
• Ford Granada III 2.0, 1989–1994; Ford Sierra II 2.0i, 1989–1990.
• Westfield with a Zetec engine, Raceline sump, Zetec flywheel and type 9 gearbox.
