The Powerlite RAC417 is a high-torque gear reduction starter motor for specified Alfa Romeo Spider 2000 models. It has a 1.00 kW rating, 12 V voltage and a 9-tooth pinion, and weighs 4.20 kg.
It fits the Spider 2000 S1 and S2 with a 9-tooth pinion from 1969 to 1982, and the S3 and S4 with a 9-tooth pinion from 1982 to 1993. Powerlite describes its starters as direct replacements for original units that require no vehicle modifications. They work with positive and negative polarity, except for the Slimeline Range.
