RAC415 Powerlite High Torque Starter Motor

The Powerlite RAC415 is a high-torque gear-reduction starter motor with a lightweight design. It has a 1.40 kW rating, 12 V voltage, 9 teeth and a weight of 3.90 kg.

The starter motor is a direct replacement for original units and requires no vehicle modifications. It works with positive and negative polarity, except for the Slimeline range. Powerlite describes its units as providing increased cranking speeds and more cranking power than original units while drawing less current from the battery. They are intended for road competition applications, particularly where engines have been tuned or conditions are adverse. Units may be modified where necessary to aid fitment.

Listed fitments include Ford straight-six engines (Zephyr/Zodiac), Jensen-Healey, Lotus Eclat, Lotus Elite (1974–1982), Lotus Esprit, Lotus Excel 2.2 (1982–1992), Lotus S3 Esprit 2.2 (1986), Talbot-Sunbeam, Talbot Avenger and Vauxhall slant engines.
