RAC302 Powerlite High Torque Starter Motor

The Powerlite RAC302 is a high-torque starter motor with a 37.5 mm pinion, listed as a replacement for large-type pinions of that size.

It is a gear-reduction unit with 1.00 kW output, 12 V voltage, 10 teeth and a weight of 4.10 kg. The lightweight Powerlite units are described as providing increased cranking speeds and more cranking power than original units while drawing less current from the battery.

Fitments listed are Jaguar 240 and 340; Jaguar E Type 3.2 and 3.8; Jaguar MK II 2.4, 3.4 and 3.8; Jaguar S Type 3.4 and 3.8; and MG TB Midget 1.25, with 1939 and 1945 shown for the latter.

Powerlite starters are direct replacements for original units and require no vehicle modifications. The range works with positive and negative polarity, except for the Slimeline range. Compact units may be easier to install than original units, and units are modified where necessary to aid fitment.
