RAC300 Powerlite High Torque Starter Motor

The Powerlite RAC300 is a high-torque gear-reduction starter motor with 1.40 kW power, 12 V and 9 teeth. It weighs 3.80 kg.

It fits a Jaguar straight-six 4.2 engine, Jaguar XJ 3.4 and 4.2 models, and the Jaguar XJ6. The unit is a direct replacement for the original and requires no vehicle modifications. It works with positive and negative polarity, except for the Slimeline Range.

Powerlite describes its starter motors as offering increased cranking speeds and more cranking power than original units while drawing less current from the battery. They are intended for road competition applications, particularly with tuned engines or in adverse conditions. Compact, lightweight units are often easier to install than the original, and units are modified where necessary to aid fitment.
