RAC007 Powerlite Dynalite Lucas C42 Type Dynamo Alternator Conversion

The Powerlite Dynalite is an alternator conversion designed to replicate an original dynamo, with the Lucas C42 Type named in the product name. It is intended to replace dynamo units directly without vehicle modifications. Dynalite units are described as providing up to 80% more power and weighing up to 40% less than original dynamo units.

This unit has a 40 A rating, negative-earth polarity, a 173 mm bracket distance and a 15 mm shaft diameter. The self-regulating design charges across the full rev range. The control box is redundant: wiring can be changed by bypassing it or using it as a junction point, with two small wiring changes. The wiring changes are simple and reversible.

Comprehensive fitting instructions are supplied. Powerlite also offers fitting accessories, including pulleys and dummy control boxes. A dummy control box matches the original in fitment and appearance, is pre-wired to help with the required changes and has a 40 A fuse to protect the electrical system; its use is recommended where applicable.
