RAC006 Powerlite Dynalite the alternator Coversion dynamo Lucas C40 Type

The Powerlite Dynalite is an alternator conversion unit in the Lucas C40 type, designed to replicate an original dynamo unit. It is intended as a direct replacement without vehicle modifications.

The self-regulating unit has a 40 A output and negative-earth polarity. Its bracket distance is 144 mm and shaft diameter is 15 mm. The Dynalite is designed and manufactured by auto electricians in the West Midlands, UK.

It combines modern alternator technology with the appearance of a dynamo. The unit provides up to 80% more power and weighs up to 40% less than original dynamo units. It charges across the full rev range. In many cases, the original dynamo pulley can be used, making the conversion simple and reversible. The required wiring changes are also simple and reversible.

The control box is redundant with the self-regulating Dynalite. It can be bypassed or used as a junction point with two small wiring changes; alternatively, a Powerlite dummy control box can be fitted. The dummy box matches the original in fitment and appearance, is pre-wired and has a 40 A fuse. Comprehensive fitting instructions are supplied.
