The Makita DPB184Z is an 18 V cordless, brushless portable bandsaw for cutting pipe, square tubing and sheet metal. Its blade speed is 0–3.2 m/sec, with a cutting capacity of 51 mm for round pipe and 51 × 51 mm for square pipe.

Features include an electric brake, constant speed control, trigger-operated variable speed control, an LED job light, an adjustable stopper plate and a lock-off button for safe operation. Blade tracking is adjusted by turning a screw, and the blade can be installed or removed easily. The highly rigid aluminium structure supports stable cutting; the design is compact.
