About the product

This Spear and Jackson border spade has a compact blade for working in confined spaces and among established plants. Its mirror-polished stainless steel head offers rust resistance and helps prevent soil from sticking during use.

  • Blade size: 230 × 140 mm
  • Shaft length: 710 mm, made from weatherproofed hardwood
  • Extra-long socket reinforces the connection between the blade and shaft
  • Supergrip handle with forward tilt

The smaller blade is intended for digging and turning soil in borders and between plants, as well as planting among established perennials, working in raised beds and general garden maintenance. The compact design is described as lighter and more manoeuvrable than a full-size spade.
