The Spear and Jackson Elements Carbon Steel Digging Spade has a heat-treated and hardened carbon steel head with a hammer-finish powder coating. The coating improves resistance to rust, scratches, humidity and alkalis commonly found in soil.
Its weatherproofed ash wood shaft has a clear lacquer finish. The integral forward-tilted handle has a polypropylene D-shaped soft-feel grip, and the treaded head allows foot pressure when digging. The spade exceeds BS3388 load testing standards and comes with a 10-year guarantee.
