About the product

The Lumenition MTK009 is a Magnetronic electronic ignition kit for Lucas 43D6, 45D6, 48D6, 54D6 and 59D6 distributors. It uses Hall-effect triggering, and the module is housed entirely within the distributor. The kit is for 6-cylinder engines, including vehicles such as the Triumph 2000/2500 series, and is for negative-earth systems.

A standard contact breaker coil is required. The recommended option is a standard 12 V, 3 Ohm coil, with the MS6 given as an example. Remax ES5 is equivalent to MS6 and has push-in fittings; Remax ES2 has the same specification and acorn fittings.

The alternative MS4 ballast coil must be used with a ballast resistor. Some vehicles have a resistor built into the wiring loom; otherwise, one must be fitted externally. The MS4 coil is supplied with a ballast resistor.
