The Makita HR1840 SDS Plus rotary hammer drill is a 240 V tool with a 470 W motor and an SDS-PLUS chuck for compatible bits.

It has variable speed, right and left rotation, a torque limiter, and rotary hammer or rotary-only drilling modes. The no-load speed is 0–2100, with 0–4800 impacts per minute and 1.4 J impact energy.
