The Makita DHP458 is an 18 V cordless combi drill with a compact design measuring 225 mm from front to rear. It has an all-metal gearbox and chuck, a dust- and drip-proof outer casing, and a single-sleeve keyless chuck for fitting or removing bits by hand.

The drill has an auxiliary handle for two-handed use, twin LED job lights with pre-glow and afterglow, and a battery fuel gauge. Variable speed is controlled by the trigger. No battery, charger or case is included.
