The Makita 9557HNR is an angle grinder designed for use with 115 mm discs. It has a 240 V supply, 840 W continuous input power and a slide switch that can be locked on for continuous use. Restart protection prevents automatic start-up if the switch has been locked in the on position before the tool is plugged in.
The slim body has machined gears, labyrinth construction to help limit grinding dust entering the interior, and a protective zig-zag varnish coating over the armature. It also has a spindle lock for wheel changes and double insulation.
