This fuel pump pre-filter is the In-Tank Fuel Pump Filter (22-168), designed for regular unleaded petrol only.
It acts as the fuel system’s first line of protection against contamination, including dirt, dust and other fine particles in petrol. Petrol can varnish over time, leaving a film inside the tank and on the pump internals and pre-filter. A varnished or clogged strainer restricts flow and makes the fuel pump work harder, which can affect its technical life.
