This mild steel grease nipple has a 45° angle and a 1/4 inch UNF thread.

Used with an appropriate grease gun or other pressurised lubricant, it allows lubrication of otherwise inaccessible internal bearing surfaces without dismantling machinery. It also prevents lubrication loss by back-flow and helps prevent contaminants entering the bearing surfaces.
