The Eberspacher Airtronic D2 is a 12 V diesel-fired air heater with electronic controls and an 801 Diagnostic Temperature controller (80110003). Its programmable independent heating does not use heat from the engine. Four modulated heat output stages are available, depending on the difference between measured ambient temperature and the required set temperature: 2.2 kW, 1.8 kW, 1.2 kW and 0.85 kW.

The kit includes electrical harnesses and connections; 0.5 m of stainless steel exhaust pipe; 1 m of combustion intake pipe; 6 m of fuel pipe from dosing pump to heater; and 1 m of fuel pipe from fuel source to dosing pump. It also includes a 60 mm air outlet, a fuel system with metering pump, 1 m of 60 mm flexible ducting, an air entry grille, clips, screws and an installation manual. The fuel tank standpipe is not included.

The heater is suitable for normal heating operation up to 1,500 m altitude. An Eberspacher high altitude kit is required for operation above 1,500 m and up to 4,000 m. It is certified for installation in passenger areas and near dangerous substances. Applications listed include trucks, vans, small buses, RVs, caravans, mobile homes, mobile workshops, electric vehicles and 4 x 4 vehicles for rear heating.
