About the product

The Bosch Home and Garden PBD 40 is a 240 V bench pillar drill with a 710 W power input. Its two-speed gearbox provides high power in first gear and high speed in second gear, with no-load speeds of 200–850 rpm and 2,500 rpm respectively. Constant Electronic maintains the selected speed as workload varies.

A digital display shows the speed setting and drilling depth, with depth indication accurate to the millimetre. The keyless precision chuck automatically retightens the bit, and an integrated laser assists with positioning. A quick-action clamp holds round workpieces; the parallel guide and large work plate support positioning. The rotating wheel has an integrated soft grip.

  • Maximum drilling diameter: 13 mm in steel and 40 mm in wood
  • Chuck jaw width: 1.5–13 mm; drill stroke: 90 mm
  • Base plate: 330 × 350 × 30 mm
  • Laser type: 2; machine weight: 11.2 kg
