This straight grease nipple is made of mild steel and has a 5/16 BSF thread.

Used with an appropriate grease gun or other pressurised lubricant, it facilitates lubrication of otherwise inaccessible internal bearing surfaces without dismantling machinery. It also prevents lubrication loss by back-flow and helps prevent contaminants from entering the bearing surfaces.
