Kew Gardens Compact Ratchet Anvil Secateurs

The Kew Gardens Compact Ratchet Anvil Secateurs are pruning tools with a ratchet mechanism that divides each cut into four short steps. Their anvil cutting action is knife-like and minimises stem twisting.

The blades are made from high-carbon steel, and the anvils are metal. The lightweight cast aluminium body has aluminium alloy handles and non-slip soft grips. Overall length is 180 mm and blade size is 63 mm.

Developed through collaboration between Spear & Jackson and the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, these compact secateurs are described as suitable for smaller hands and for cutting harder, thicker branches.
