Defender Portable Site Transformer 240v to 110v 5Kva 110v

The Defender portable site transformer converts 240 V mains to 110 V and has a tough GRP case. It is designed for stepping down and isolating mains voltage for demanding construction tasks.

It has two 16 A and one 32 A 110 V outlets, resettable thermal overload protection and a centre-tapped earth connection. Its rating is 2.5 kVA continuous and up to 5.0 kVA intermittent. The duty cycle is 5 minutes on and 15 minutes off.

• Input lead has bare ends and no plug; maximum current is 23 A.
• At 2.5 kVA continuous, the required supply current is 12 A. A 13 A UK domestic plug is permissible, or a 16 A (230 V) industrial plug may be used.
• At 5.0 kVA intermittent, the required supply current is 23 A, which exceeds a 13 A mains output. A 32 A (230 V) industrial plug or another suitably rated plug is recommended; alternatively, hard-wire directly to a suitable fused-spur electrical point.
